Chamber DOES Local

The Downingtown-Thorndale Regional Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that we have recently joined forces with DOES Co. to kick off the "Chamber DOES Local" campaign.

In an effort to compliment and expand the services we offer our members, the Chamber has partnered with Downingtown and Coatesville DOES to provide you with a unique ‘Buy Local’ campaign. ‘Buy Local’ campaigns work and we are looking forward to the successful partnership to strengthen our local economy.

The "Chamber DOES Local" campaign has been developed to connect you, the small local business owners, with the local community. Businesses that join the DOES Neighborhood will be provided a proven and affordable marketing program utilizing various facets to reach people such as advertising space, social media promotions, advertorials, and a ‘Buy Local’ reward program. As a Chamber member, you will have an exclusive opportunity to join the DOES Neighborhood at a 10% discount.

"I am so excited to be working with the local businesses in the Downingtown-Thorndale area," said Nick Winkler, owner of DOES Co. "There is no doubt that small businesses are the backbone of our community and we are committed to providing you the tools you need to be successful. Our unique "buy local" campaign is one of the best ways to strengthen our local communities."

According to a 2013 Independent Business Survey, small businesses in communities with an active "buy local first" initiative run by a local business organization reported average revenue growth of 8.6% in 2012, compared to 3.4% for those in areas without such an initiative.

The Chamber and DOES hope that the "Chamber DOES Local" campaign will raise awareness about shopping locally and the benefits this program will have on our local economy. The "Chamber DOES Local" program will in turn help keep tax dollars at home, neighbors working, and the local economy strong.
